The 2013-2014 Recipients of the Aiken County Career & Technology Center's Business Partner of the Year Award are, small business category, Motion Automotive and, large business category, Aiken Regional Medical Centers.†


Motion Automotive was nominated by Jeff Kaney our Automotive Program Instructor. Henry and Allison Crawn have been major supporters of the Career Centerís automotive program for the past eight years. Their support includes hiring students, serving on the program advisory board and donating training components. Motion is Automotive is a small, family owned business whose dependability annually results in improved† instruction and real world learning for students. We gratefully acknowledge this small businessís big impact on the Career Centerís Automotive Program.


Aiken Regional Medical Centers was nominated by our Health Science instructor, Ms. Teresa Hayden, †ARMC has supported multiple Career Center programs through representation on the Career and Technical Education Advisory Board for the District. One major opportunity ARMC provides Health Science seniors is 8 hours a week of clinical experiences throughout the hospital. This is a rare opportunity for a high school student and speaks to the hospitals commitment to guiding the development of future health-care professionals. ARMC also provides classroom speakers, an annual job shadowing panel and monetary donations to support student participation in organizational conferences.† With heartfelt thanks, this award was presented to Aiken Regional Medical Centers.

The inaugural 2012-2013 recipients of Aiken County Career & Technology Centerís Business Partner of the Year Award are MTU ĖTognum America and TTX Company. Nominations are submitted by faculty members. Nominations are scored for the industry partnerís time commitment, scope of partnership, monetary commitment and duration. This award is given to recognize the outstanding commitment and dedication to the training and development of our students and future workforce.



MTU Tognum America

MTU Tognum America supports multiple Career Center Programs including Auto Detailing, Mechatronics and Machine Tool. Company vehicles are provided to Auto Detailing for bi-weekly cleaning, establishing the classís first corporate client. Mechatronics and Machine Tool have worked jointly with MTU to implement a Machine Tool Basic Apprenticeship Certification Program. This program, based on the German Apprenticeship model, is the first of its kind in the United States.MTU has provided ongoing resources of time, equipment and manpower to develop this innovative model.


TTX Company

TTX has supported the ACCTC welding program since 1993. The company provides personnel to sit on the Welding Advisory Committee, donations of steel, gases and other consumables annually. Many students from the Career Center have gone directly to full time employment with company immediately after graduation.
